I’m blogging because everyone else is, and I hate to feel left out– I just always jump on the bandwagon after it’s nice and full. I’m a forty-something almost-former English teacher, living on the Left Coast, working part time and pondering my next move. I write about the things I’m thinking, the things I like to do, and the things that annoy the heck out of me.
“A Lark Arising” is an allusion to Shakespeare’s Sonnet 29. Scholars say it’s about Shakespeare’s patron; to me, it’s all about God. Go read it. It’s also a reference to Ralph Vaughan Williams’ romance for violin and string orchestra, “The Lark Ascending.” Go listen to it. The current header photo is one of mine, taken in the spring of 2005 at Whiskeytown Lake near Redding, California. Go see it. What’re you sittin’ around readingĀ blogs for?
